Derrida studied at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Theodor W. Adorno Award and the Harry Oppenheimer Fellowship Award. Derrida married Marguerite Aucouturier and had two sons, Daniel Agacinski and Pierre Alferi. He taught at the University of California, Irvine, and the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences in Paris.
