The South China Sea is a marginal sea of the Western Pacific Ocean, bounded by several countries including Vietnam, Taiwan, Malaysia, Cambodia, People's Republic of China, Philippines, Brunei, and Indonesia. The United Nations and the World Bank are working to address environmental concerns and promote sustainable development in the region. The ASEAN and the East Asia Summit are working to promote regional cooperation and address the challenges facing the South China Sea.
